About CBID’s Role in Brooklyn Politics

Central Brooklyn Independent Democrats was formed in 1968 out of the anti-war movement, and continue to be a proudly pro-peace, pro-social justice, reform-oriented club.

Our success has been a result of our extensive question and answer forums with elected officials and prospective candidates as well as our on-the-street contact with our constituents. We work to support Democratic candidates and officials who uphold progressive and reform values.

Staunchly opposed to political corruption, we are proud of our independence and our commitment to progressive reform in City, State, and national politics. We are a vehicle for citizen empowerment and making government more accountable to our neighborhoods. Check our calendar for meeting dates.
